Surrey Basements were instructed to excavate the existing basement floor level to increase the head height and to allow for a waterproofing system and also for plinths to house boilers and various plant.
To achieve the required head heights large sections of the foundations were required to be underpinned with a new reinforced concrete slab tied in. The chosen waterproofing system was cavity drainage which acts not only as a water barrier but also as a vapour and radon barrier. We installed two dual sumps in conjunction with this system to allow for the high flow rates.
We then finished with a screed floor and studwork walls.
