Surrey Basements were instructed to excavate the existing basement floor level to increase the head height and to allow for a waterproofing system and also for plinths to house boilers and various plant. To achieve the required head heights large sections of the foundations were required to be underpinned with a new reinforced concrete slab tied in. The chosen waterproofing
